M.E.: Death of FSU student appears accidental

DAVIE, Fla. - A Florida medical examiner says the death of Florida State University student Ryan Uhre appears to be accidental, reports CBS Miami.

Officials believe the 23-year-old Uhre fell through a window on the second story of the abandoned building where his body was found. They say he died from the injuries he sustained when falling to the ground floor.

The Leon County Medical Examiner determined Uhre’s injuries “were not survivable” and he died “within minutes of falling,” Officer Scott Beck of the Tallahassee Police Department told CBS Miami.

Investigators reportedly believe Uhre was alone at the time of the accident.

A final autopsy report that will include toxicology reports is pending.

The 23-year-old disappeared Feb. 2, 2014 after watching the Super Bowl at a bar with friends. His body was found last week in an abandoned building in downtown Tallahassee in the same area he was last seen.

Friends and family held a memorial service for Uhre in Davie over the weekend, according to the station.
