McNulty Says Earlier Testimony On U.S. Attorney Firings "incomplete"
Deputy Attorney General Paul McNulty, who is scheduled to testify before a House Judiciary Committee subcommittee on Thursday regarding the firing of nine U.S. attorneys last year, said his earlier testimony to Congress on the matter "was in some respects incomplete," according to a prepared statement.
McNulty has been accused by Monica Goodling, a former aide to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, of being "not fully candid" in his February testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee, an appearance that Goodling helped prep McNulty for. Goodling was referring to McNulty's knowledge about what role White House officials had in the firings. McNulty has denied Goodling's allegation.
