McNulty: 'I Am A Softy'

In his March 30 interview with House and Senate investigators regarding the U.S. attorney firing scandal, Deputy Attorney General Paul McNulty made a stunning confession - he is "a softy."

I am not sure the nine U.S. attorneys who got fired last year would say this is true, and it's not my memory of what McNulty was like when he was chief of staff at the House Judiciary Committee during the impeachment proceedings against former President Bill Clinton in 1998. It's also wasn't McNulty's rep when he was the U.S. attorney in Alexandria and prosecuting terrorism and death-penalty cases, but hey, people can change, right?
