McCain Headed To Iraq

The Arizona senator was criticized in April for his comments following a trip to Iraq in which he took a walk through Baghdad's central market. McCain, Rep. Mike Pence and others suggested that their experience reflected an improved security situation in the country, but critics said the intense security precautions undertaken for the visit meant that they were not experiencing typical conditions.

McCain, a former Vietnam prisoner of war, has been steady in saying that the Iraq war is necessary and calling for troop increases.
