Job cuts. JPMorgan Chase (JPM) says it will cut roughly 5,000 jobs over the next year and close about 300 branches. The company says more customers doing banking transactions online.

Welcome shoppers! Walmart (WMT) is the most visited store in America, according to location analytics firm Placed. McDonald's (MCD), Subway, Starbucks (SBUX) and Walgreens (WBA) are also in the top five.

Apple glut. Washington apple growers are stuck with an extra $100 million worth of apples this year, in part because of a record crop and also the West Coast port slowdown.

Legendary home. Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch is on the market for $100 million. It sits on 2,700 acres, has six bedrooms, a 50-seat movie theater and a train station.

Bloomers back? There's a new trend when it comes to underwear: According to the NPD Group, sales of thongs are down 7 percent over the last year, while fuller styles are up 17 percent.
