Massive ammo depot blast outside Iran's capital
TEHRAN, Iran -- An Iranian lawmaker says two consecutive explosions at an ammunition depot have shaken the capital Tehran, 25 miles from the site of the blast.
Hossein Garoosi told the Iranian parliament's news agency, Icana.ir, that the explosions on Saturday broke building windows close to the site of the blast outside Bidganeh village, southwest of the capital.
Reuters quotes local media as saying there was one, massive explosion at a weapons depot on a military base, and it killed several people. Reuters cites the semi-official Fars news agency, which carried a statement from the Revolutionary Guards.
