(CBS/WBZ) BOSTON, Mass. - Authorities arrested two brothers Sunday who are allegedly behind a series of over 30 Dunkin' Donuts robberies in the Boston area since May.

Police believe the brothers broke into the doughnut shops overnight and stole thousands of dollars each time, reports CBS affiliate WBZ.

The siblings were apprehended after police responded to an alarm that went off just after midnight Sunday at a Dunkin' Donuts  in Canton. 35-year-old Peter Wallace of Boston and 33-year-old Wayne Wallace of Quincy were arrested after a car chase, WBZ reported.

Chief Kenneth Berkowitz said, "Since the beginning of the year, they've hit Dunkin' Donuts, breaking in early morning, late at night, prying through drive-thru windows or back doors."

In fact, police found evidence of just that in the suspects' car. They uncovered masks, a sledgehammer and a crow bar they said the brothers most likely used to break into the establishments.

"A pry bar that's been used in most of the cases to pry open the drive-thru window. The sledgehammer they used to knock the safe off the mooring on the floor," Berkowitz said.

According to WBZ, there is still a third suspect on the loose, but police say they're glad they have two of the perpetrators in custody.

Police are unsure of the motive for the brothers' crime spree that has targeted the donut shop specifically. "They've been in and out in a very short period of time. We don't know the connection to the Dunkin' Donuts. Past employment maybe, familiar with someone that works in the area Dunkin' Donuts," Berkowitz said.

The amount of money stolen has yet to be determined. The Wallace brothers are being held in jail and will face multiple charges, including robbery and breaking and entering.
