Mary Jane Clark whips up new Piper Donovan mystery

(CBS/AP) Piper Donovan, full-time cake maker and part-time sleuth, is back in "The Look of Love: A Piper Donovan Mystery" by crime writer Mary Jane Clark, published today by William Morrow.

In Clark's second book featuring the New Jersey baker, the director of a luxury spa and cosmetic surgery center in Hollywood invites Piper Donovan to create a special wedding cake for her big day. But when the baker arrives in Los Angeles, she realizes someone will stop at nothing - not even murder - to keep the nuptials from happening.

Clark, whose own mother was a cake baker, introduced Donovan in last year's mystery "To Have and to Kill." Before that, the author, a former CBS News producer, wrote 12 mysteries set in the media industry.

Her former mother-in-law is bestselling author Mary Higgins Clark.
