Martina McBride to light Empire State Building in pink
Country singer Martina McBride will set the Empire State Building awash in a pink Oct. 14 as part of an effort to raise awareness of breast cancer prevention.
The Grammy-winning artist will combine her public service work with promotion of her new album, hosting a pink-carpet event, "Martina McBride: Light Up the Sky," at the historic Manhattan skyscraper to promote her 11th studio album "Eleven," which comes out Oct. 11
McBride, who has sung about women's issues on past tunes including "Independence Day'' and "Broken Wing," is launching her new work by taking an Amtrak train across the country, stopping in 11 cities to meet with fans and breast cancer survivors and perform mini concerts.
