Mariska Hargitay asks you to "Do the KIND Thing"
(CBS News) Mariska Hargitay is asking people everywhere to "Do the KIND Thing" in support of the Joyful Heart Foundation, a non-profit which helps survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse.
The "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" star is asking people everywhere to carry out an act of kindness by lending support to a parent or caregiver.
If enough people pledge to complete an act of kindness by Oct. 2 on KINDmovement.com, Hargitay and her friends and supporters will package and deliver healing kits to hundreds of children at The Manhattan Child Advocacy Center in New York City.
The new season of "Law & Order: SVU" begins Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
