The manhunt for a suspect accused of a Thanksgiving Day massacre in Florida has expanded to the Midwest after he reportedly contacted a doctor in Michigan.
Paul Merhige, 35, of Miami, is accused of opening fire on his family following Thanksgiving dinner, killing his twin sisters, Carla Merhige and Lisa Knight, an aunt, Raymonde Joseph, and his 6-year-old cousin, Makayla.

Makayla's father, Jim Sitton said on "The Early Show" Merhige "definitely had plans."

Sitton said Paul Michael Merhige, 35, of Miami, was fine at dinner, joking at the dinner table with him.
"There was no arguing. There was no controversy. We weren't arguing over politics or religion. We were just enjoying Thanksgiving," Sitton said. "... He wasn't moody or angry. No red flags went up in my head whatsoever."
However, after dinner, "Early Show" co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez said, Merhige went to his car and got his guns and then opened fire on the gathering.
Sitton said Merhige was invited to Thanksgiving at the last minute. Sitton said Merhige's father called him and said Merhige decided to come to the dinner.
Sitton said, "I didn't think anything of it, I thought, 'OK, we'll I haven't heard anything bad about Paul. I haven't seen him in 12, 14 years, I haven't heard any bad stories, in like over 10 years.' So the thought that went through my mind was, 'Oh, OK, I guess he's doing great. He's family.'"
Jupiter, Fla. Police Chief Frank Kitzerow said on "The Early Show" they're following up on leads and are asking the public to call in with tips about Paul Merhige. Kitzerow said Florida authorities are working with the U.S. Marshals to find Merhige.
Kitzerow said, "I'm confident we will apprehend him."
Kitzerow said Merhige could possibly be driving a 2007 royal blue Toyota Camry with the Florida license plate W42 7JT.
