Manhunt after Wis. Walmart worker escapes abduction

MUKWONAGO, Wis. -- Authorities in Eau Claire County, Wis. are searching for a man suspected of abducting a woman at a Walmart in southeastern Wisconsin and driving more than 230 miles before the woman was able to escape.

Sheriff's officials say the man is armed with a rifle or shotgun and fled on foot in the Town of Seymour, following a high speed car chase earlier Monday.

Authorities say the suspect abducted a female employee of the Walmart in Mukwonago. Her co-workers called police about 5 a.m. when she failed to return from a break. Store surveillance video showed the suspect's car approach the woman and the driver forcing her inside.

About seven hours later the vehicle was spotted at an Eau Claire convenience store, more than 230 miles northwest, where the woman was able to escape.

Mukwonago police say the woman was able to tell officers who abducted her.
