Man Sentenced To 22 Years For Bringing Gun To Capitol

A Virginia man who attempted to enter the Captiol in January with a shotgun and a samurai sword was sentanced to 22 years in prison on Friday.

A Virginia man convicted of carrying a loaded shotgun near the U.S. Capitol and hiding explosives in his truck has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.

Michael Gorbey of Rapidan was arrested Jan. 18 while walking with a shotgun and three-foot-long sword near the Capitol.

At Friday's sentencing, Judge Gregory Jackson said it was "plain old dumb luck" that nobody was hurt.
