(CBS/AP) MEMPHIS, Tenn. - When Darius Williams apparently saw the light, it happened to be blue.

According to The Commercial Appeal newspaper, a police officer found the 19-year-old Williams walking before dawn Thursday along Interstate 240, and he asked if the officer was Jesus.

Police said Williams got in the back of the cruiser, became irate, and then pushed down the window and climbed on top of the vehicle. The officer got out, tried to talk Williams down, and they wound up in a scuffle.

Eventually Williams got away, got back into the police car, and took off the wrong way on the freeway. He crashed a short distance away and was captured.

He's charged with felony theft, aggravated assault and resisting.
