Man arrested in 2013 stabbing death of Md. woman, dog

DAVIDSONVILLE, Md. - Police in Anne Arundel County, Md. have made an arrest in the 2013 stabbing death of a woman and her dog.

Police said Monday that evidence and witness statements link 37-year-old Terrence Robert Proctor, of Hyattsville, to the March 2013 killing of 37-year-old Nicole Burgess. Burgess was found dead in her home in Davidsonville, 30 miles south of Baltimore. Burgess' dog, a pit bull mix, also was stabbed to death.

Police arrested Proctor on Friday. An Anne Arundel County grand jury indicted him the same day on charges of first- and second-degree murder, and manslaughter.

No attorney is listed for Proctor in online court records. He's schedule for an arraignment on Oct. 6.

Police say at the time Burgess was killed, she and Proctor had recently formed a business relationship related to drug trafficking.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Anne Arundel County Police Homicide Unit at (410)222-4731.
