Magnitude-6.9 Earthquake Shakes Ecuador
A magnitude-6.9 earthquake has shaken the South American nation of Ecuador, but there are no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The 6:54 a.m. (1154 GMT) quake was felt in the nation's capital, Quito.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake was centred 106 miles (171 kilometres) southeast of Quito. But it was also very deep - about 114 miles (190 kilometres) below the surface.
