Madonna's London home burglarized; man arrested
(CBS/AP) LONDON - A 29-year old man has been charged in Britain with trying to help himself to some of the Material Girl's possessions.
According to newspaper reports, Grzegorz Matlok was arrested early Saturday at a house in the city's Marylebone area, where Madonna, 52, has a home.
The Sun reports that the queen of pop's Georgian mansion was burgled over the weekend, while Madonna was in the United States with her children following the death of her grandmother.
Police confirmed that Matlok was due to appear in a London court later Monday, charged with burglary.
Madonna's maternal grandmother, Elsie Mae Fortin, 99, died Wednesday in Bay City, Mich., where the pop singer was born and raised.
