The 9-year-old will play Renesmee, Bella and Edward's child, in the film adaptation of the final book in Stephanie Meyers' "Twilight" series.

"Very excited about our new Renesmee, Mackenzie Foy," Meyer wrote on the "Twilight" Facebook page. "She's an amazing young actress and I'm excited to work with her."

Foy has previously appeared on the small screen with parts in "FlashForward" and "'Til Death." She has also appeared in commercials for Burger King and Pantene, as well as ad campaigns for Gap and Jill Stuart.

"Breaking Dawn" will be split into two parts, with the first installment hitting screens Nov. 2011.
