"X-Men" star Lucas Till tapped for "MacGyver" reboot pilot

Television's most resourceful hero is making a comeback.

More than 20 years after Richard Dean Anderson debuted on the 1980s adventure series "MacGyver," a new look at the hero is underway at CBS.

"X-Men: First Class" star Lucas Till has been cast in the title role for the pilot from CBS TV Studios, which will serve as a prequel to the original series, according to Deadline. Joshua Boone ("Fan Girl") and George Eads ("CSI") will also star.

The pilot will find the ever-resourceful MacGyver "recruited into the clandestine organization from the original series where he uses his knack for solving problems in unconventional ways to help prevent disasters from happening."

Till is also set to reprise his role of Havok for the third time this May in "X-Men: Apocalypse."
