Long Island man allegedly killed wife with dumbbell
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - A New York man is accused of killing his wife by repeatedly hitting her in the head with a dumbbell, reports CBS New York's radio affiliate 1010 WINS.
Hector Bejarano, 53, of East Meadow, on Long Island, is facing a charge of second-degree murder, Nassau County police say.
His wife, 52-year-old Miriam Bejarano, was found dead in the couple's home on April 28. Hector Bejarano wasn't arrested until Thursday, 16 days later.
The couple reportedly has two children.
Authorities have not publicly disclosed the weapon believed to have been used in the killing, but 1010 WINS reported it is a dumbbell.
