Little Debbie Cakes For Wasserman Schultz

Members of the House Appropriations Committee received "Little Debbie" cakes today to mark Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz's (D-Fla.) first markup as a cardinal on the spending panel.

Rep. Zach Wamp of Tennessee, the ranking Republican on her Legislative Branch subcommittee, passed them out as a jestful acknowledgment that the second-term Democrat would be managing her first spending bill in the House. (As a side note, Little Debbie cakes are baked in Wamp's district.)

Something tells me the always-affable Wasserman Schultz has endured this joke at least once before.

But Wamp shouldn't push his teasing too far; "Little Debbie" now controls the purse strings for Congress itself and could strike back with a vengeance.
