Search teams were looking for 19-year-old Lomax since she was released from an outpatient mental health facility in Sacramento on June 26.

Sacramento County Coroner Greg Wyatt said Friday night that remains found earlier in the day along the American River are those of Lomax. The cause of death is under investigation but foul play doesn't appear to be a factor.

Lomax's family says she was getting treatment at the mental health facility after suffering a breakdown while studying for final exams.
