(CBS News) Linkin Park edged out Maroon 5 for the top spot on Billboard's chart this week.

The rock band's "Living Things" debuted at No. 1 with 223,000 copes, while Maroon 5' "Overexposed" opened at No. 2 with 222,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"Living Things" is Linkin Park's fifth No. 1 album. It comes on the heels of 2010's "A Thousand Suns," which also bowed in the top slot. Since 2000, no other band has had more No. 1 albums than Linkin Park, reports Billboard.

Maroon 5's new release features the single "Payphone," which is currently No. 2 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart.

Justin Bieber's "Believe" fell to No. 3 this week. And not surprisingly, Adele remains in the top 10. Her 2011 album, "21," sits at No. 7.
