LinkedIn adds visual portfolio

LinkedIn is launching a new feature that will cater to creative types. The social network for professionals announced on Wednesday that it is adding visual portfolios to member profiles.

Adding support for photos and videos is meant to give people in creative fields an opportunity to highlight their work on the site.

"This means you can illustrate your greatest achievements in the form of stunning images, compelling videos, innovative presentations and more," LinkedIn product manager Udi Milo said in a blog post.

"From the analyst who makes annual predictions on tech trends to the 3D animator who is looking to fund a new short film, the opportunities are limitless for how professionals can now use the LinkedIn profile to help showcase these unique stories in a visual way."

A spokesperson for LinkedIn told CBSNews.com via emial: "Starting today, the ability to add rich media to your profile will be rolled out to members in English speaking regions. We look forward to making this more broadly available to all our members around the world."
