Lohan's problems have regularly made headlines. Most recently, she was charged with felony grand theft for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace from a jewelry store.

Meanwhile, her issues have been a source of humor for Letterman. Last week, he read the Top Ten Signs that "Lohan is out of control." They included: "Friends worry that her shoplifting is getting in the way of her drinking."

On Monday, Letterman made another joke at her expense: he told the audience that in the aftermath of the turmoil in Egypt someone noticed that King Tut's necklace was missing.

"Lindsay, Lindsay, Lindsay," he said.
