Lindsay Lohan heading to trial after rejecting deal
(CBS/AP) LOS ANGELES - The deadline for Lindsay Lohan to inform Superior Court Judge Keith Schwartz if she was accepting a plea deal in her felony grand theft case was yesterday - and, as she did not appear in court to do so, she has apparently rejected the deal.
According to TMZ, sources say Lohan had spoken to her lawyer and decided to go to trial. The plea deal reportedly would have entailed 60 to 90 days in jail for Lohan.
She will now have to come to court April 22 to face a different judge for a preliminary hearing in the theft case.
The "Mean Girls" star was charged with felony grand theft after the jewelry store Kamofie Co. reported that she stole a "one of a kind" necklace worth a reported $2,500.
