Lindsay Lohan Enters Rehab

Following the announcement that Lindsay Lohan is entering rehab, the actress' manager-mom, Dina, says her daughter is doing what she needs to do.

"I'm so proud of her. She's really in a good place right now, spiritually and mentally," Dina said in a statement given to Star magazine. "She's in an amazing, phenomenal place. She's 20 and she's solid, and she's doing what she needs to do. I don't know that many people who are that secure. It's all about her, and getting back on track. She's fine — she's amazingly fine."

A publicist confirmed to The ShowBuzz on Wednesday that Lohan checked into a rehab facility. A source tells TMZ that the actress will stay at the facility for at least 30 days.

"I have made a proactive decision to take care of my personal health. I appreciate your well wishes and ask that you please respect my privacy at this time," the 20-year-old actress said in a statement Wednesday through her publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnick.

Us Weekly reports that Lohan entered the posh Wonderland Center in Los Angeles at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, arriving in a sports utility vehicle and clutching a Jamba Juice.

The news follows reports that Lohan partied at a Golden Globes party until 6 a.m. at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Zelnick confirmed to The Associated Press in December that Lohan was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

Lohan told People magazine then that she had been going to the meetings for a year.

"I haven't had a drink in seven days. Or anything," she said to People. "I'm not even legal to, so why would I? I don't drink when I go to clubs. I drink with my friends at home, but there's no need to. I feel better not drinking. It's more fun. I have Red Bull."

On Christmas Eve, she partied at Lotus, one of the hottest nightclubs in New York City. But a source told The ShowBuzz that the "Bobby" star didn't have one drop of booze.

2Lohan was spotted with a group of friends, including Brittney Gastineau, the former star of "Gastineau Girls" and "Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive."

"She came in at 11:30 with Brittney and three other guys — it was clearly nothing romantic — they were escorted to banquettes that's on the main floor," the source said. "Anytime Lindsay comes in, that's where she will go. Her friends shared a bottle of vodka, but she even told the manager that she wasn't drinking."

"We've seen Lindsay Lohan, for years, partying out of control. She's been often seen drinking, she's been with several men. She was a young woman who clearly wasn't in control of her life," Us Weekly's Dina Sansing said on The Early Show Thursday.

Last July, Lohan was treated for several hours at a Los Angeles area hospital for overheating and dehydration on the set of "Georgia Rule."

Sansing said that a rehab stint may nix future high profile movie deals for Lohan.

"It's really been a crazy couple years for her … for years Lindsay has been using lots of excuses, she's been in and out of the hospital, she's delayed working on set. Now that you see her in rehab, you have to wonder if those were real," Sansing said. "Executives are seeing this and saying, 'Well, she obviously has a problem. Do we want to hire her for this movie?' It's really going to be tough for her."

The actress, whose other screen credits include "Mean Girls," "A Prairie Home Companion" and "Freaky Friday," recently had surgery to remove her appendix. She's up for a SAG award as part of the ensemble cast of "Bobby."
