(CBS/AP) LA PUENTE, Calif. - You know all those car ads that make it look like you could drive through a tsunami if you really needed to?

Don't try telling that to the Diaz family of Lapeunte, Calif., who awoke to find a Lexus at the bottom of their swimming pool.

The Southern California family tells the San Gabriel Valley Tribune that drivers navigating the tricky intersection next to their house have hit their cinderblock wall before, but early Sunday one of them smashed right through it in his 2006 silver Lexus sedan, then sank into the pool.

The California Highway Patrol says the driver - 40-year-old Modesto Cabral - managed to escape through the passenger side window and had only minor injuries. Jail records show he was booked on suspicion of drunken driving and was being held on $10,000 bail.

A crane fished the Lexus out of the Diaz family's pool.
