Lewd at the library: Homeless man booked for porn "performance" in Laguna Beach

CBS/AP

(CBS) LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. - A homeless man is accused of engaging in a lewd act while watching pornography at a public library.

Use your imagination.

CBS Los Angeles reports that police were called to the Laguna Beach Library on Saturday afternoon, after a library patron called to report the man's behavior.

Sgt. Eric Lee told The Orange County Register that when officers arrived at the scene, they saw eight homeless men looking at porn on the library computers, in plain sight of other visitors. Lee said a library patron had asked Joseph Clairence Cormier II, 46,  to stop his lewd behavior, but after he declined, called police.

According to Laguna Beach Sgt. John Falk, police arrested Cormier and brought him to police headquarters on a charge of misdemeanor lewd conduct. He was released on his own recognizance.

Library staff told police the library does not use content filters for internet access on its computers, unless the computers are designated for children.
