Let The Universal Packing List Offer Advice for Your Next Trip
I always forget something when I go on a trip -- sometimes it's just toothpaste, but occasionally it's a charging cable or pants. Yes, once I really forgot to bring pants (aside from the ones I was wearing). The Universal Packing List is an interesting Web app you can use to avoid forgetting important stuff on your next trip.
To be honest, The Universal Packing List isn't complete or configurable enough to replace something like PackWhiz. But it has some clever touches, so I've added the site to my trip planning ritual.
Some of the site's coolest bits: Links to help you figure out the weather where you're headed and a list of activities, and a Java-based map that you can use to select the countries you're visiting. Based on that, your packing list includes region-specific advice, like vaccinations you might need to get. That's cool, but personally, I prefer to just not go to countries that require region-sspecific vaccinations.
