"The mission of THA is to promote the headwear industry and keep hats in the public eye, and each year we honor individuals who have made hats an integral part of their personal style," said THA President Ryan Seth.

In order to be capped with this honor, the celebrities, alive or dead, must have worn  hats not only in their work but in their everyday lives. These six will be formally included during a special ceremony at the annual THA gala at The Central Park Boathouse on April 19, 2012.

Previous honorees include Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra and Jacqueline Kennedy, all known for their notable headwear.

Hats off to the new inductees: You can count this honor as a feather in your... well, you get the idea.
