Ky. teen's sentence: Don't say "bingo" for 6 months
(CBS/AP) COVINGTON, Ky. - Calling out "bingo" when you don't have it can get you in trouble in northern Kentucky.
Just ask 18-year-old Austin Whaley.
Whaley was recently sentenced to refrain from saying "bingo" for six months after he and several other teens were involved in a prank at a Covington bingo hall.
An off-duty police officer working security cited Whaley for second-degree disorderly conduct. The affidavit stated the prank disrupted the game for several minutes and alarmed patrons.
Kenton District Judge Douglas Grothaus didn't send Whaley to jail, but told him to not even use the word for a while.
Grothaus told The Kentucky Enquirer Whaley was a good kid who hadn't been in trouble before. He said the court must also have a sense of humor.
Bing....oh, never mind.
