Kim Kardashian says she plans to run for mayor

(CBS News) Kim Kardashian says she is planning to run for mayor of a Southern California city.

In an unaired clip from  her sister Khloe Kardashian Odom's reality show, "Khloe & Lamar," Kardashian says she plans to run for mayor of Glendale, Calif., less than 10 miles north of Los Angeles.

"I decided I'm going to run for the mayor of Glendale," she tell her sister as they drive around Dallas in the clip posted to YouTube. "So you have to, you know, have full residency of Glendale," Kardashian said. "So, for real, Noel's going to head my campaign. But it's going to be like five years for Glendale. So I have to buy a house there."

It is unclear who Noel is, but Kardashian continues saying the two are looking into the requirements for running for office in Glendale.

According to CBS station KCBS, The city of Glendale does not have an elected mayor. The city's mayor is selected by nomination and majority vote by his/her city council colleagues every year.
