Kidman And Urban Ready To Wed?
Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman and her country musician fiancé, Keith Urban, came home Monday to Australia to celebrate their nuptials.
"We are very happy to be back in Australia," Kidman and Urban said in a joint statement carried by Australian Associated Press. "We have come home to celebrate our wedding with our family and friends."
Kidman was photographed exiting a private jet as she arrived in Sydney early Monday amid widespread speculation that she Urban will tie the knot this weekend.
A cluster of journalists and photographers staked out the harbor-side mansion where Kidman stayed with ex-husband Tom Cruise, but she did not appear.
Last month, Kidman put to rest months of conjecture when she told People magazine that she and the Grammy-winning country music star were due to wed.
"He's actually my fiancé," Kidman told People after hosting a gala event in New York in May. "I wouldn't be bringing my boyfriend."
Urban's publicist, Paul Freundlich, later confirmed the couple were "happily engaged."
Australian media have widely speculated that Kidman and Urban will exchange vows on June 25 at a Catholic church in a northern Sydney suburb close to where Kidman, who was born in Hawaii, attended high school.
Earlier this week, Kidman said she has moved to Nashville, Tenn., where Urban is based.
Kidman ended her 10-year marriage to actor Tom Cruise in 2001. The couple adopted two children, Isabelle and Connor.
Cruise recently had another child with actress Katie Holmes.
Kidman won an Oscar for her portrayal of Virginia Woolf in the 2002 film, "The Hours," while Urban took home a Grammy in 2005 for best male country vocal performance.
The pair were first seen together in 2005 at an awards dinner hosted by the Australian government in their honor, the AAP said. Urban, a singer and guitarist, was born in New Zealand and raised in Australia.
