Kevin Spacey's film clears Chinese censors

(CBS/AP) The director of Kevin Spacey's newest film "Inseparable," whch was shot in southern China, reported that the film has cleared the China's censors and its financial backers have been discussing release dates with local contributors.

Chinese-American director Dayyan Eng told the Associated Press in an email that Spacey enjoyed his shoot in the southern Chinese city Guangzhou. Eng says the "American Beauty" star explored the city's restaurants and and took him and other crew members to them.

In "Inseperable," the Oscar winner takes the role of an American expat who befriends a Chinese man bogged down by work and marital problems, played by Chinese-American actor Daniel Wu.

By selecting a Chinese-funded production, Spacey, 51, gets an increase in exposure to the booming Chinese market by bypassing import quotas imposed on American productions.
