Kevin Hart says he's done with touring, calls hosting the Oscars inevitable
After the epic tour he's just wrapped up, Kevin Hart could be forgiven for being over the whole stand-up comedy thing.
In fact, Hart claims that his most recent tour will be his last. "I don't know if I'm ever going to go out and do it again," Hart said during a CinemaCon on Wednesday for his upcoming tour documentary, "What Now?" He referred to the just completed stint -- 156 shows in 112 cities, 13 countries and five continents -- as "my last f**king tour."
Fans will at least be able to enjoy the behind-the-scenes look that "What Now?" offers, culminating in his record-breaking show at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field -- making him the first stand-up comic to sell out an NFL stadium. "I believe that laughter heals all wounds," he said in Las Vegas. "It's a goal of mine to make people understand the power of laughter ... I'm that person that you can laugh at."
While he doesn't plan to go out on the road, Hart is planning for one very prestigious gig: hosting the Oscars, something he sees as more a matter of "when" than "if."
"I think in time it will come," he tells E! News. "I think when it comes, it will be right. I'm definitely not turning my nose up to the opportunity."
"I think it's a stage, and I think as a comedian it's something that you want to say you did in your career," he added. "So when I do, trust me I will make my presence felt. And I think once again, the timing will be right. I'm not in a rush, I'm not going anywhere ... We know eventually it's going to happen. I'm just being patient about it, that's all."
