Kennedy Conscious, Talking
Sen. Edward Kennedy is conscious and joking with his family at Massachusetts General Hospital, according to a spokeswoman.
Kennedy was rushed to the hospital earlier today with stroke-like symptoms that were later diagnosed as a seizure.
Melissa Wagoner, a spokesman for the senator, confirmed in an e-mail that Kennedy is "conscious, talking, joking with family." Wagoner was confirming an Associated Press report on Kennedy's improving health.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), in Reno for the Nevada State Democratic Party's State Convention, told reporters after talking to Kennedy's wife that the senator "will be fine" and "woke up fighting."
