Kem: Second Cup Cafe

Motown recording artist Kem is being featured July 30, 2005, in The Saturday Early Show's Second Cup Cafe. The former wedding band singer first made it big in 2004 with his R&B hit, "Love Calls." He has just released his second CD, "Album II," and the first single off that collection is "I Can't Stop Loving You."

Kem recently finished the 20-city "Find Your Way" tour with "American Idol" winner, Fantasia. It kicked off June 8 in St. Louis, Mo.

Kem, a native of Detroit, is becoming well-known for his love songs, which belies his background of struggle. He once waited tables to support his family and was homeless at one time. Before he signed a record contract with Motown in 2002, he actually independently financed and released his first album.

You can still get him to sing at your wedding, though, if you're the winner of a contest he's running from his Web site.
