Kellogg's Cereal Recall: Full List (Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Froot Loops, Honey Smacks)

(CBS) The Kellogg Company announced on Friday that it is recalling about 28 million boxes of the sugary breakfast cereal kids love and dentists curse.

Although no one has become seriously ill, 20 people complained about a "stale" odor and flavor. Five people reported nausea and vomiting.

The company is offering refunds to customers who purchased any of the four brands of cereal involved in the recall: Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Froot Loops and Honey Smacks.

Kellogg blamed the offensive odor and flavor on a substance in the waxy resin used to make the plastic box liners.

Here's what you need to know when you check your pantry:

Check the "use by" date. Cereal boxes stamped with the letters "KN" following the "better if used by" date should be examined. If you find a box stamped with the letters "KN", check the date.

Here are the dates to look for:

Apple Jacks: 17-ounce packages dated between  April 10, 2011 and Jun 22, 2011 and 8.7-ounce packages dated between Jun 3, 2011 and Jun 22, 2011.

Corn Pops: 12.5-ounce packages dated between March 26, 2011 and Jun 22, 2011; 17.2-ounce packages dated between March 26, 2011 and Jun 22, 2011; and 9.2-ounce packages dated between   April 5, 2011 and June 22, 2011.

Froot Loops: 12.2-ounce packages dated between March 26, 2011 and June 22, 2011; 17-ounce packages dated between March 26, 2011 and June 22, 2011; and 8.7-ounce packages dated between March 26, 2011 and June 22, 2011.

Honey Smacks: 15.3-ounce packages dated between March 26, 2011 and June 22, 2011
