NEW YORK (CBS) It's over between "Pride & Prejudice" costars Keira Knightley and Rupert Friend.

The couple, whose work together on the film led to an off-screen romance, ended their relationship after five years together.

A source told People magazine on Thursday that the pair, who shared a home in London overlooking Hyde Park, quietly broke up a few months ago, shortly after Knightley bought a house in the South of France.

Distance and career "were both considerations," the source added. "It was time for her to move on."

The actress' father, Will Knightley, told Britain's The Sun, "They were together for quite a long time and it is always hard breaking up. She's focused on her work."

Knightley, 25, will reprise her role as Elizabeth Swann in the upcoming fourth installment of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise. Friend, 29, played Prince Albert in 2009's "The Young Victoria."
