Keep Tabs on Multiple Gmail Accounts with Gmail Notifier

Checking multiple Gmail accounts drives me nuts -- I hate having to log in and out of Gmail on my browser just to see if I have any new messages. In fact, one of my favorite things about my iPhone is that it can manage multiple Gmail accounts at once. But I've found a great way to do pretty much the same thing on my desktop.

Gmail Notifier is a free program that can track up to five Gmail accounts and reports your new message count for each one.

You can do a lot from this simple little program. It's not just a notifier as the name implies you can read the messages, mark them as read, and even delete email, all without opening the account in a browser. But if you prefer, you can even log into a Gmail account through Gmail Notifier -- it pops your browser and lets you log in with the username and password pre-populated.
