Katie Holmes' fashion line to show at Lincoln Center during New York Fashion Week

Katie Holmes will be returning to the Broadway stage in her first major project since announcing her divorce from Tom Cruise. The actress will star in Theresa Rebeck's "Dead Accounts," a five character comedy that will be directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien. The play will open on Broadway this fall at the Music Box Theatre. Holmes, 33, made her Broadway review in the 2008 revival of Arthur Miller's "All My Sons."

(CBS News) Katie Holmes is already set to return to Broadway, and now she's also making her debut at another New York City staple: Fashion Week.

The actress is scheduled to present her fashion line Holmes & Yang during New York Fashion Week next month.

This is the first time the label, founded by Holmes and her stylist Jeanne Yang, will be shown at the Fashion Week tents at Lincoln Center, according to the New York Post.

A source told the paper, "This is a big deal for Katie to show in the tents, under the full attention of the fashion editors and the glare of the media scrutiny. They could have done a small show elsewhere, so this proves she and Jeanne are very serious about their business."

Some reports said Holmes' fashion show was scheduled to take place at the same time as her  friend Victoria Beckham's, but the celebrity fashion face-off rumors are apparently untrue - New York magazine's The Cut blog, citing Women's Wear Daily, reports the two shows will take place on different days.

New York Fashion Week kicks off on Sept. 6 and runs through Sept. 13.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Holmes' divorce from actor Tom Cruise has been finalized.
