Katherine Jenkins updates fans on her back injury

(CBS News) Katherine Jenkins felt the heat Monday night during the semi-final round of "Dancing With the Stars."

The opera singer got emotional after the ending of her routine didn't go as planned. As it turns out, she had injured her back and  host Tom Bergeron told the audience  she  would get medical attention.

Both Jenkins and her partner, Mark Ballas, tweeted about her condition after the show.

Jenkins appeared to get hurt while doing a back bend during Monday's samba routine, her second of the night. When asked about the incident, Jenkins said, "I don't know, I felt my back go as I bent back."

Earlier, Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said Jenkins' performance "might have been the best dance I've ever seen on 'Dancing with the Stars.'"

"Dancing With the Stars" airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. on ABC.
