NEW YORK (CBS) Actress Katherine Heigl tells Harper's Bazaar that her daughter Naleigh, adopted from Korea last September, won't be wearing a bikini because of scars from open-heart surgery, needed to repair her congenital heart problem.

Married to singer Josh Kelley, the 31-year-old actress opens up to Harper's Bazaar in its June issue and talks about motherhood, adoption and balancing her burgeoning film career.

"Her heart is 100 percent fine now," Heigl said. "She has a scar, so she won't be wearing bikinis, which is fine by us."

Best known as Dr. Izzie Stevens on "Grey's Anatomy," it seems as though art has imitated life for the star. "It was crazy," she said, "because as my character was learning how to take care of a one-year-old, I was, too."

Welcoming the challenges and joys of a "special-needs" child, she said she draws the line at keeping up with other celebrities when it comes to kids' fashions. "Dude, I try, but I'm not nailing the baby fashion," she said. "It's intimidating. I get beautiful outfits from Gap and baby Juicy, but I'm not layering it or putting her in Prada flats. It's really stressing me out."
