Remains believed to be Houston teen found under sink

SOUTH HOUSTON, Texas -- Police say a body believed to be a missing Texas teen has been found in abandoned apartment, and they've arrested a juvenile on suspicion of murder, according to CBS affiliate KHOU.

Karen Perez vanished May 27 from South Houston, but the circumstances surrounding the 15-year-old's disappearance weren't immediately clear. Tim Miller of Texas Equusearch, a volunteer search and rescue group that aided in the search for Perez, tells the station that remains believed to Perez were found under a kitchen sink in an empty apartment complex next to South Houston High School.

City of South Houston Police tell the station a juvenile is in custody and murder charges are pending.

They didn't release information about a cause of death. Officials have yet to officially identify the remains.
