(CBS) Justin Timberlake will get some special recognition at this year's Kids Choice Awards, but not because of his singing or acting skills.

The Grammy-winner is being honored with the Big Help Award for his charitable and environmental efforts, People reported Wednesday.

"I was inspired at a young age by my parents and family to do everything possible to give back to the world around us," the 30-year-old told the magazine. "And it has become a mission of mine to help kids of all ages understand the importance of getting involved in their communities and local charities and doing their part to preserve the planet."

His charitable efforts include supporting the Shriner's Hospitals for Children and hosting a PGA golf tournament to raise money for children in need, according to People. Timberlake also opened an environmental friendly golf course in Millington, Tenn., which helps the surrounding wildlife habitat and uses less water.

Timberlake previously hosted the Kids Choice Awards back in 2007. He also took home two blimps and was named a two-time bump award winner.

It was reported earlier this week that Willow Smith is scheduled to perform at the ceremony, along with the Black Eyed Peas. Presenters are set include Sofia Vergara, Russell Brand, Kim Kardashian, Miranda Cosgrove and a special appearance from Britney Spears.

The Kids Choice Awards will air live from Los Angeles on Saturday.
