Justin Theroux to star in Damon Lindelof's "The Leftovers" on HBO
Justin Theroux will star in HBO's apocalyptic pilot "The Leftovers," based on the book by Tom Perrotta.
Perrotta will serve as co-writer and executive producer on the show along with Damon Lindelof ("Lost," "Prometheus"). Peter Berg of "Friday Night Lights" fame will direct the pilot, as well as serve as an executive producer
The logline for the show reads: "The Rapture happens. But not quite like it's supposed to. This is the story of the people who didn't make the cut... and a world that will never be the same."
Theroux plays Kevin Garvey, a town's chief of police (the town's mayor in the novel) and father of two, who is "a man trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy in a world that is starting to completely reject that notion."
