According to published reports, "multiple industry insiders" say that the 16-year-old pop singer has been all but officially tapped as the host of a revival of MTV's "Punk'd."

New York magazine's Vulture blog writes that Bieber will reportedly take over hosting duties from actor Ashton Kutcher, who started the series in 2003. Kutcher will remain on as an executive producer.

"If we confirm too much detail on this, it's going to make it harder to punk people," an executive familiar with the production, who insisted on anonymity, told the New York Times.

Bieber, who has been the subject of numerous pranks himself from being targeted by online websites to getting hit in the head with water bottles, has not confirmed or denied the news on his Twitter profile.
