(CBS) CHILLICOTHE, Ill. - Police are searching for Julie Peters, a 23-year-old Illinois woman, who was last seen Saturday Sept. 28 leaving a wedding reception in Chillicothe, reports CBS affiliate WMBD.

"Being gone for this amount of time is different for most people, different for her," said Peoria County Sheriff Mike McCoy.

Police have reportedly questioned Peters' ex-boyfriend in connection with the investigation.

Peters, of Edwards, is a mother of two. She was last seen leaving the American Legion in Chillicothe between 10:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. wearing a short peach-colored dress, reports the station.

Peters' family and friends have set up a Facebook page entitled "Help find Julie Peters" in an effort to organize searches for the missing mother.

Authorities are also looking to locate Peters' vehicle, a 2006 four-door silver Chevy Impala with front-end damage and a license plate number of P507471.

Abby Maurer, a friend of the missing woman, told the Peoria Journal Star, that Peters would not abandon her children willingly.

"She's a very, very good mother and a responsible person," Marurer told the paper.
