(CBSNews) As the casts of "Teen Mom" and "Teen Mom 2" head to New York this weekend for a reunion special, the show's troubled star, Amber Portwood, will not be in attendance.

The judge overseeing Portwood's probation, for her December arrest for drug possession, denied the "Teen Mom" permission to leave Anderson, Ind., to participate in the MTV taping, Portwood's mother, Tonya, told E! News.

"He thinks it will interfere with her program," Tonya Portwood said, reports E!.

Last month, an Indiana judge approved of the plea deal Portwood made with prosecutors in her case that allows her to avoid a 5-year prison sentence by completing a court-mandated rehab program.

Even though Portwood will not be present at the reunion, her baby's father, Gary Shirley, and their 3-year-old daughter Leah are flying to New York Saturday to attend the special, according to Shirley's Facebook entry.
